Seahorse Card

Hello everyone,

I have been quite busy creating cards this weekend, wanted to make sure I don't miss the deadline at some of my favorite challenges...
Here is my latest creation:


For my base layer I used a piece of heavy water color paper and painter is in blue tones. Then, I covered is with splashes of Broken China Distress Paint and Picket Fence Distress Paint. I applied hot glue here and there...
I used a hand died piece of cheesecloth and some decorative sisal, as well as a string of jute to create that base for my seahorse arrangement.


I applied alot of texture paste onto the seahorse cutout and colored it with Broken China Distress Paint. The shell you see on this card were found on the beach in Florida when we went there on vacation recently. :)
The big star was bought in craft store though...and the little white one was made out of crafter clay. I added couple pearls here and there.


You can see in this photo how dimensional this card is...


Metal plate sentiment was colored with Broken China and Picket Fence DP and I pulled some cheesecloth through the back before attaching it to the card...

    I'm a lover of all things seashore and have made a few projects myself but I never tire of seeing more and this is so dreamy and pretty ... I love your handmade embellishments ... Simply gorgeous!

    Wonderful underwater scene! Gorgeous colors and I love what you did with the seahorse! So great that you could incorporate some of the shells from your own vacation!

      Thank you Kara Lynne, I thought it would be cool to use shells from the beach, so I got a bunch while walking on the beach in Florida :)

    Wow Samra, this might be one of my favourite beachy cards ever!! Love that fancy flourishy seahorse and all the amazing authentic shells! I love that you dropped little pearls here and there and all your natural fibres are just amazing! What a vacation treat for the eyes!

    I started to run to my closet and get my bathing suit on! Holy crud...this is GORGEOUS and such a realistic portrait in 3D of a beautiful beach/ocean scene. LOVE this!! :)

    This is just lovely Samra! I can feel the warm ocean breeze and smell the salt right at my computer! The cheesecloth gives the perfect seaside feel along with your wonderful colors, shells and die cuts!

      OMG :) Thank you soooo much Georgie :) I loved your inspiration card for the challenge, and really wanted to do tags, but I really did not have much time that day to do as elaborate project as yours is, so I had to settle with just plain one base layer card with plethora of embellishments piled up...it turned out nice though huh? You made me giggle here, you are too funny my friend!!!
