Mixed Media Altered Chocolate Box

Hello everyone,

Just a quick post of an altered chocolate box I made...

That was created out of this:

I gave that box of chocolates to my husband for Valentine's Day ( he loved the chocolates, said they were really good :) ) and when he finished off the last one, he gave me the box back knowing I would want to do something with it :)

I covered entire box with extra layers of green damask patterned cardstock to give it some extra sturdiness. Then I applied some gesso. When gesso was dry I randomly applied texture paste with Gothic Stencil and then some Distress turquoise spray ink, Peeled Paint Distress Paint and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.

I used Picket Fence Distress Paint to highlight the damask pattern in some places...

I decorated the box with hand died seambinding ribbon, gears, fleur de lis, clock charm, apothecary mini bottle filled with green micro beads, rhinestones and giant butterfly covered with assortment of paints and crackle clear paint.

I am entering this project into following challenges:

BGC #66 Mixed Media

Eclectic Ellapu "Go Green"

Our Creative Corner "Junk in Your Trunk"

Rhedd's Creative Spirit March Challenge

and

Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge "Just a Hint of Clover"

I hope you enjoyed this post...
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by...
