Darker Side of Chic...Card

Hello everyone,

Just a quick post of my latest creation:

I used a piece of chipboard as my base: covered it with thin layer of gesso, then applied crackle paste and when that layer was dry, I added some Chipped Sapphire Distress Paint, Faded Jeans & Black Soot Distress Ink. Then I applied some texture paste through the Damask Stencil designed by Mona Pendleton and covered it with Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. Once that layer was dry, I heated the powder to get that nice metallic look. After that layer set, I applied a layer of Clear Crackle Paint and when that layer was dry I randomly applied metallic gold paint to show the crackle...

I cut out different sizes of butterflies in vellum and inked them with Faded Jeans and Black Soot Distress Ink. I used Fancy Flourish stamp designed by Mona Pendleton and heat embossed them with Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder.

The seam binding ribbon was covered with Pearlex. I used two shades of ribbon to create the bow and embellished it with metal filigree.

I would like to enter this card into following challenges:

Anything But Cute Challenge #4 "Making Magic"

Hello everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at Anything But Cute Mixed Media Challenge Blog and our dear Georgie is the host this month. For this challenge, Georgie would like you to create a magical mixed media project strongly inspired by the colors and textures of the images in the mood board.

I was very much inspired by everything but had to limit my inspiration to the face covered with gold and the moss in the woods and have come up with this card:

Below you'll see how it all started and progressed...I won't write much...

And now few more pics of the finished card...

The challenge is open til September 4th. I would love to see what inspired you from the mood board :)
I hope you enjoyed this post...
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by...

Guest Designer Appearance at Scraps 'n' Pieces Emporium Challenge Blog

Hello everyone,

I am thrilled to announce my guest designer appearance at Scraps 'n' Pieces Emporium Challenge for August!
Here is my creation:

Their challenge this month is anything goes, so I hope you'll join in on fun and be inspired by wonderful creations their DT created!

I created a frame using some heavy cardstock, put it all together, covered it with scrunched up tissue paper, gesso and crackle paste. I added the inked and heat embossed butterfly cutout embellished with a fleur de lis resin embellishment.

I added a cluster of different embellishments to add some more interest to this piece. This is a greeting card but could surely be used as a home decor piece, I'd say...

I am going to enter this card into following challenges:

We Love To Create Craft Challenge #16 Anything Mixed Media/creative/Inky Goes

Creative Craft Cottage Challenge #44 Anything Goes
