Mixed Media Christmas Card

Hello everyone,

I made a Christmas card using quite a few media products: gesso, ink spray, home made texture paste, glitter, jingle bells, diamond confetti, you name it! I am slowly entering the waters of stencils, textures and paint and I love it. :)
Here is my card:

The wreath was made with branch punches died with ink spray, home made flowers embellished with turquoise diamond confetti and seambinding ribbon colored with distress ink.
The card measures 6"x6" and the top layer was cut just slightly smaller. I used a piece of 110lb heavy card stock to spritz some turquoise ink on it and then I added some gesso onto paper and spread it with with paintbrush. After that layer was dry, I created Damask Flourish stencil in diagonal corners with home made texture paste and white the paste was still wet I sprinkled some turquoise glitter on it.

I try to add a shabby bow to a card when ever I can, so here it is, another shabby bow embellished with a pair of metal jingle bells coated with white glitter.

The sentiment was created on my PC using Scriptina Pro font. I added some red bling just to add a splash of contrast.

One more look at the card...

I am going to enter this card into following challenges:

Craftbar Challenge #12 Use at least two media

Scrapclub Kiev Sketch #69

Scrap Magic Turquoise and Red

and

The Mixed Media Card Challenge#5 Christmas

I hope you enjoyed this post.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by...

  2. Oh my gosh Pamellia! You sure know how to make my day! Thank you so much for all the praise! The white glitter is Martha Stewart Crystal Glitter and Turquoise Glitter is Michaels craft store brand "Recolections" and is called Frost. Both glitters are extra fine. Thank you again for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend and see you on our dance floor ;) Hugs :) Samra

  4. Oh my goodness Samra, this is gorgeous. I love the colour and the textured background and how you created the wreath. The sentment pops out beautifully too. Like you, I'm also slooooooowly getting into the world of stencils and pastes etc. I've already got a few stencils, but I'm waiting for a couple more. And I need to figure out how to make my own sprays. Then I'll be ready to do some mixed media projects. ;) You totally nailed this one!
    Hugs! xx

    1. Awww Maja! Thank you so much for such a wonderful comment :) I truly appreciate you! And about the mixed media...it is all about playing with it until you figure it out...at least that is how I am doing it. The downside to that is alot of wasted paper and other material :( The stuff that I can't find in craft stores, I made, like texture paste, but anything else that I can buy, I just do that. I am not a fan of shopping on line, I like to see and feel if possible. But that is just me. Anyways, thank you again for the wonderful comment. :) Have a great weekend! Hugs :) Samra

    2. I SO know what you mean. I prefer going to the store and do shopping there. This way I knoe exactly what I'm getting and there are no bad surprises about the size, quality ... I only shop online when I must (when I can't get the things I'm looking for here - which is still happening too often in my opinion *sigh*). They barely have any of those craft sprays (those that I know are good) so I need to figure out how to make my own. Still haven't gotten that far. *sigh* But I will ... One day ... ;)
      Have a wonderful Sunday!
      Hugs! xx
