Vintage Hello Dear Friend Card

Hello everyone,

Just a quick post of a card I just made:

Even though blue is my favorite color, I decided to go with pink tones for this card...maybe I make it in blue too later :)
Some of you might remember similar design I did in December: Life is a Journey Card. That card seems to be a big hit on Pinterest :)
I used a piece of pink cardstock for the first layer, distressed edges and then layered another piece of cardstock with brick texture created with texture paste and my new fabulous stencil designed by Mona Pendleton for My Favorite Things. Since the cardstock was just too bright pink I covered it with layer of gesso to create more subtle shade of pink.

The bicycles are Cheery Lynn Vintage Bicycle die cuts.

All the flowers are hand made and the banner was used to display the sentiment that was heat embossed in white. I added a little frame made from crafters clay and inked with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.

I would like to enter this card into following challenges:

City Crafter Challenge Blog Week #264 "Add A Banner"

Hello everyone,

It is time for a brand new challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog. I am hosting this week's challenge and I selected the theme of banners. Add them to your card or create a banner for a special occasion and show it off in our challenge :) Here is an inspiration photo to start off the fun:

And here is the card I made:

I made this card for my very dear blog friend Branka. As you can see, the card is very much inspired by the photo, I love the soft and airy feel of it...

I created the background using a piece of cardboard, scrunched up tissue paper and a layer of texture paste. I made the texture paste look like old worn out wood panel and painted it with Broken China Distress Paint.

I created the banner using newspaper print cardstock and stamped my sentiment with archival ink.

Doily, tissue paper flowers, crafters clay cupcake and the keys were all arranged in the corner to complement the white shabby bow...

One more look at the finished card...

Our Guest Designer this week is my dear blog friend Kara Lynne Please stop by to check out her fabulous blog!! She makes the most amazing modern design cards, you'll be in for quite a treat when you see her work. :)

Guest Designer at Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges #43 "Wedding"

Hello everyone,

It is my pleasure to announce my Guest Designer appearance at Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges. I was very happy when Rachelle invited me to be their guest for this challenge, with the theme of Wedding. You can see the inspiration photo for this challenge at the end of my post. I was inspired by denim.

Here is what I created for the challenge:

I have to give credit to one and only Dorota for the dress inspiration.

I used a piece of foam padding and diamond-like brads to create that denim cushion for my background. I added some embroidered ribbon all around...

As you can see there are so many different layers to this dress and the top was created from cardstock covered with cotton ribbon and tiny bling...

One more look from the side...

Happy Birthday Kirsty!

Hello everyone,

I made a Birthday Card for Kirsty Vittetoe, founder of City Crafter Challenge Blog who graciously invited me earlier this year to be part of that fantastic DT.

I loved so much the theme from another challenge blog that I was a Guest Designer at, that I decided to make another card with a crown :) And it actually fits the theme perfectly since today Kirsty is a Birthday Queen!

I hope that Kirsty already got this card in the mail and that she likes it :)

Happy Birthday Kirsty!!!

Guest Designer at Try it on Tuesday "Crowning Glory" Challenge

Hello everyone,

I am thrilled to announce my guest designer appearance at Try It On Tuesday Challenge blog for their "Crowning Glory" challenge!!! The theme is absolutely fantastic:Add a crown to your project. I truly hope you'll join the fun and this is what I made for this occasion:

I created canvas-like base for my card out of cardboard, scrunched up tissue paper, gesso and texture paste applied through the Finnabair stencil. The crown is my focal point and is made with several layers of heavy cardstock glued together to give it extra sturdiness. The crown is a Cricut Sophisticated Cartridge cutout covered with Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter.

I added bunch of handmade flowers to my arrangement. Flowers were made out of tissue paper, lately my go to material when it comes to making flowers, it just gives them such soft and airy look, love it, hope you do to :)

...and a shabby bow hand-died with Dusty Concord Distress Ink...

I would like to thank Avril for inviting me to join this beautiful challenge as a Guest Designer, it is my great honor to be part of it with such talented Design Team!!! Please stop by and check out the DT inspiration.

City Crafter Challenge Blog #263 "Sequins"

Hello,

It is time for a brand new challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog and our host is Stella who chose sequins as our theme.

Here is my card with sequins:

I liked so much theme from our challenge couple of weeks ago, focus on flowers, that I carried it over into this card too :) I added sequins to the centers of the flowers :)

I created my background using texture paste and brick stencil and then inked it with Faded Jeans DI.

I wanted this card to look vibrant so I used bright yellow cardstock for my base..

One more look...

City Crafter Challenge Blog Week #262 Inky-nes"S"

Hello everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog and our host is Ros who would like to see project with one or more of these techniques:
Smooching
Stenciling
Splattering
Sponging

To give some inspiration she chose this photo:

I used stenciling, splattering and sponging in my creation:

I used a piece of cardboard covered with scrunched up tissue paper as my base. I covered everything with gesso and then applied texture paste through bricked stencil. Once that was dry, I sponged multiple colors of distress paint all over the card and splattered some white paint in a bottom corner.

I added bunch of different embellishments and made it look like a modern canvas.

All the flowers were handmade...

One more look from different angle...

Our guest designer this week is Agnieszka Kuszaj. Please stop by her blog to check out her amazing work!!! She is very talented!
Also please stop by my team mates blogs to see what they created for this challenge. I truly hope you will join us for this challenge.
I hope you enjoyed this post...
