Vintage Love Card

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to show you my latest creation:

I used layer upon layer of patterned papers and cardstock, cutouts, lace, flowers and what not to create this vintage feel card...

The cage was attached to the card so that it had 3D effect. I added some liquid pearls to the cage and around the edges of one of the layers of cardstock...

I cut out the sentiment on my Cricut using Sophisticated cartridge, all other cutous were from my hoarding supplies :)

I made these flowers a few weeks ago for another projects but did not need them all, so they came in handy for this card :)

In this view, you can see how dimensional this card really is...

One more look at the finished card...

Shabby Stripes Birthday Card

Hello everyone,

Just a quick post of a card I made for a friend of mine...

There are several layers of different shade of blue cardstock, all with distressed edges painted with Picket Fence Distress Ink.

Sentiment was printed on a piece of white cardstock that was then cut into shape of a tag. Handmade flowers were covered with gesso to give them more of a shabby look. The second tag was embossed with stripe embossing folder that was inked on debossed side with blue ink...I cut out a 3.5" doily and nested it behind the top tag that was decorated with pearls...Shabby bow was made with white and blue seambinding.

City Crafter Challenge Blog #250 "Use It Up"

Hello everyone,

It's time for a new challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog
This week's host is Ros who wants us to create a card or a project using scraps and then to tell what they are. Thank you Ros for picking this theme! I pretty much turned it into my resolution to use up all my scraps if possible on all future projects if possible before touching any new cardstock. I hope you will join in on this super fun and very useful challenge :)
Here is the inspiration photo:

And here is my card made with scraps only:

This card was created out of this:

I decided to create tall and skinny card in purple tones. I embossed a piece of cardstock, one of the scrap pieces, but before I did that, I inked debossed side of the embossing folder with some Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to give me that nice vintage looking colored background and to highlight the texture.

I used Spellbinders flower die to cut out all the layers for my flower, distressed it with Picket Fence Distress Paint and added some flower stamens. In the back of the flower are two Spellbinders Fancy Tags embellished with a little heart which is actually a scrap piece from that same die :)

I made a row of banner from the leftover patterned paper and added a ribbon bow...

I added small pearls here and there for a more elegant touch...

This week's guest designer is OriBella Please make sure you stop by her amazing blog to check out her stunning work.

12 Tags of 2015-February

Hello everyone,

Just a quick post of the tag I made for Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015 - February

For the most part I followed the tutorial with the exception of some embellishments that I did not have, so I added my own.

I embossed a cardstock heart, painted it red and then applied UTEE to create that glossy thick layer. I did not stitch the heart or the ribbon on the bottom since I do not have a sewing machine...

I added a crossbow instead of the heart charm....

Turquoise Thank You Card

Hello everyone,

Just real quick, I'd like to share my newest creation with you:

This card measures 6" x 6" First layer is cheesecloth inked with turquoise spray ink, then I added distressed piece of light brown patterned cardstock. Top layer is a piece of distressed brown cardstock textures with white paint. I used a sponge to apply the paint.

Next, I added two banners that I cut out of some scrap cardstock from my stash, added two handmade turquoise flowers embellished with jumbo pearls and a thank you sentiment cut out of very heavy cardstock.

I had hard time capturing the shimmer of the coarse glitter covering the sentiment, you can kinda see it in this closeup...

You can see in this photo how dimensional this card really is...

City Crafter Challenge Blog #249 "Love Metal"

Hello everyone,

it is time for another challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog

This week our host is Kirsty and she would like to see a project that includes a metal piece. I sure had alot of fun with that one!!

Here is what I have come up with:

When I created this card I was going through "Put some Gesso on EVERYTHING" stage...so pretty much almost every piece of cardstock you see on this card has a layer of gesso applied onto it. :)
I decided to go with sewing theme this time and make something shabby and chic as you can see...added couple of different diecuts, dress form mannequin handmade flowers, shabby bow, some metal charms and what not...

Those two pins I stuck into the bow...I made them :)

That little white round frame is silicon mold that I filled with tiny beads. The sewing machine is a Cricut cutout inked with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and then covered with some gesso (what a shock!)
I sure do hope you will join in on fun this week at City Crafter Challenge Blog. This week's Guest Designer is Lenet She is an amazing crafter and it is such a joy to have her with us this week!

Vintage Masculine Card

Hello everyone,

Here is my latest creation:

I used a portrait from Tim Holtz cardstock stash and treated it with clear crackle paint, then attached it to distressed piece of cardstock. Then I cut out a frame and painted it with black crackle paint. Once that layer was dry I randomly applied Rusty Hinge and Tarnished Brass Distress Paint. I dabbed Weathered Wood Distress Stain on the portrait to give it even more aged look.

The clock face was cut out from Tim Holtz Lost and Found cardstock stash and I stamped a chandelier on it. I added a vintage metal watch, chit chat stickers, clock gears and industrial frame corner stickers to finish this project...

One more look at the finished card...

Purple and Turquoise Roses Birthday Card

Hello everyone,

here is my latest creation:

This card seems relatively simple but it took quite a bit work to make it. The background was created from 6" x 6" heavy water color paper. I sprayed purple distress ink in one corner and turquoise distress ink in diagonally opposite corner. Then I sprayed some water on both inked areas and spread them with paintbrush. After ink was dry I dabbed a coat of gesso. When that layer was dry I applied home made texture paste through my new Finnabair doily stencil. I heavily distressed the edges of the paper. I created a ruffled border with some embroidered ribbon.

The flowers started off as white cardstock, which I inked with Seedless Preserve and Peacock Feather Distress ink. Then I made my flowers and dabbed some gesso on the tips of the petals.

Pink and Grey Valentine Card

Hello everybody,

Just a quick post of my latest creation:

I used pink patterned paper for my first layer and heavily distressed the edges. Then I added grey tone wood grain patterned paper ontop of it. Edges were distress on this layer as well...
I cut out a frame out of white and black cardstock and attached them. The black cardstock was on top. I covered it with Brushed Pewter Distress Paint and white the paint was still wet I sprinkled some clear rock candy for extra shimmer..
The sentiment is from Verve "More than Love" stamp set stamped with Black Soot Distress Ink.

Here is a closeup of the handmade flowers, the sentiment and layered hearts... The flowers and hearts were inked with Spun Sugar Distress Ink. Hearts were embossed with script embossing folder.

Here you can kinda see the shimmering frame...
