Shabby Chic Friendship Card

Hello everyone,
I made this card for a very dear friend of mine that moved out of state.

The card base is white, topped with light blue piece of distressed edges cardstock. I also used distress white paint on the edges of that piece. I used dark blue cardstock for my top layer. I distressed edges and then I used texture paste and Damask stencil to create the damask design on it. You can find amazing tutorial on different types of texture paste on this blog: http://mylittlecraftthings.blogspot.com This young lady makes amazing cards!

I used blue seam binding ribbon to create shabby bow. Flowers were all hand made by me :) The butterflies are Cricut cutouts embossed with Darice Script embossing folder.

I created this sentiment on my PC and printed it onto white cardstock. I cut out the sentiment in the shape of banner, and then distressed the edges.

One more look at the finished card...
I am going to enter this card into following challenges:

Crafty Cardmakers and More Challenge #124 "Triple B" (I chose Blue, Banner and Butterflies)

Cardabilities Challenge Sketch#108

and
House of Cards October Challenge "Punches and Dies" (flowers are made using ek flower punch)

I hope you enjoyed this post.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by...

  1. Wow, this is probably the prettiest blue card I have ever seen! Your big scrumptious shabby bow has me hypnotized! Love the damask texture paste design (thank you for the shout out by the way - so sweet of you). Your butterflies are gorgeous and it was so clever of you to emboss them, really makes them pop!! Your handmade flowers are sublime and your distressed edges are a wonderful contrast to the bold colours! It couldn't be more perfect for our Triple B Challenge!

I am so happy that you joined us at Crafty Cardmakers and More! Hugs, Pamellia DT :)

  3. A truly wonderful card. The blue you have chosen really makes an impact against your lovely white embellishments. The bow is really pretty, especially the way the tails cascade down the side of the card and your hand made flowers are amazing. Thanks for joining us at Crafty Cardmakers and More. Sally D.x.

  4. Oh my goodness! Your card is the MOST amazing card I've seen lately!!! You certainly put SO much attention to detail. For starters the monochromatic color combination is striking and oh so elegant! Then the stenciled background, together with those beautiful handmade flowers, superb! The dry embossed butterflies look so well with the rest of the design and your custom made sentiment is spot on! Love, love, love Samra!

Thanks so much for joining our challenge this month at House of Cards! I look forward to seeing more of your wonderful work soon!
