Hello everyone,
Just a quick post of a Christmas card I made this season. I made very few Christmas cards this time and this is one of them:
I inked the edges of the base patterned cardstock with Faded Jeans Distress Ink, also the embossed parts of the Spellbinders Fleur de Elegance die cut, the Poinsettia flowers and the shabby bow...
I wanted to keep this card relatively simple, so that the beauty of the die cuts show off...
As you can see I tucked in here and there Branches by Martha Stewart ( I am quite disappointed with that punch, since it pretty much stopped working for me after maybe two hundred punches! It just does not want to cut)
I would like to enter this card into following fabulous challenges:
Card & Scrap Challenge #110 White and Blue
RRR challenge #132 "Look what I've got" Poinsettia die is something new

I hope you enjoyed this post...

Gorgeous :) you have such an eye for elegance !
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, this is stunning, Samra!! The colors are so beautiful!! I love those amazing flowers and the die you used!! The matching box is gorgeous, too!! Love, love this my friend!! I read once that if you used either aluminum foil or sandpaper, you might be able to sharpen the punch again. I haven't tried it so I'm not sure if it works. Have a great day my friend!! Big hugs :)

Try punching through foil to sharpen it and waxed paper to lubricate it. Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteSamra, Gorgeous flowers and love the delicate blues throughout your card. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous card with us at Really Reasonable Ribbon and can't wait to see your next beautiful card or project with us soon. Nancy Hill, Really Reasonable Ribbon Design Team Member
ReplyDeleteAlso read you have problems with the Martha Stewart punch. I had the same problem and ended up getting the Impression Obsession die that almost looks like this punch. Very disappointed in Martha Stewart punches now and I ended up throwing my Martha Stewart punch away since it was too much of a hassel and really couldn't cut much of anything. Try foil, etc. but if it was what like what I had, it was an easy pitch to the trash. I am happy with the Impression Obsession die that I got from Scrapy Land for less than this punch and it works on any card stock, etc.
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning! Love the blue and white color combo.

ReplyDeleteYour flower clusters are always so beautiful, combined with the gorgeous crinkle ribbon. Stunning work Samra!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Samra!! Blue is just my favourite this year, so perfect for a wintery card! Love the fancy frame and your poinsettias are stunning!! I hear you regarding punches, I quit purchasing them because sometimes they didn't even work straight out the package! I have drawers of them I don't use, because it seems every time I pull one out, it doesn't work, and they're not cheap either!! Oh well, die cuts it is for me! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely card. Thanks so much for joining us at Really Reasonable Ribbon! Huggs
ReplyDeleteHi Samra! You have really outdone yourself with this blue Christmas card! The color is stunning and really shows off those amazing poinsettias and that elegant frame and punched foliage. I feel your pain with the MS punch; I've spent good money on Creative Memories punches only to never have them work properly, and they are not even intricate. Then I pick up some cheapo at a yard sale and it works beautifully! I've heard about sharpening with aluminum foil, but sometimes it's more in the mechanics that makes them go phooey! At least you were able to salvage some beautiful punches for this amazing card! PS If you haven't seen it yet, I've used some of your beautiful blossoms on my 3rd casket http://sarascloset1.blogspot.com/2016/01/charmingdont-you-think.html They are lovely to work with! Big hugs and muchas gracias por las flores!
