Hello everyone,
Just a quick post of my latest creation:
I used a piece of black card stock as my base, added pieces of chipboard treated with grey paint, one step crackle by Deco Art and white gesso.
The sentiment is computer generated and cut out using the newest addition my my dies: Spellbinders Victorian Medallion 2. I added a few crystal gems just to add some sparkle to this rustic design...
The bodice of the dress was embossed with Spellbinders Shapeabilities Sparkle and then inked with Dusty Concord and Seedless Grapes DI.
It took several yards of hand died seam binding ribbon to create the dress skirt. I added two fabric flowers just because :)
I would like to enter this card into following challenges:

Scrap Africa Challenge #59 with this gorgeous mood board:

DeleteSamra, you know you had my heart on this one! I love, love, love that crackle background, and the purple dress is just amazing! Wow! That's a lot of seam binding, and you have died it to this unbelievable color! (Since you use so much seambinding, you must have a great source--do you mind sharing your source?) Your card captures the essence of the Bumaga-Maraka mood board to a tee! What a gorgeous, gorgeous card! Big hugs and lots of applause to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sara, my dear! Source for seam binding is Wawak Sewing Supplies. I order stuff from them online...they don't have huge color selection but their prices are reasonable.

Samra

DeleteI am glad to help :)
DeleteWow the purple on this card is so vibrant and such a gorgeous way to create the skirt of your wedding dress. Love the texture you have created for the background too. Thanks for visiting my blog today and your lovely comment. I am only just dabbling in mixed media projects, I love it but don't seem to have enough time to do everything. I am learning a lot as I visit such talented people and their blogs like yours.
ReplyDeleteLorraine
Aww Loraine, thank you so very kindly for stopping by and I am glad that you like my card :) Mixed media is not my go to style...I prefer shabby chic, no mess with paints and stuff, but I do go out of my comfort zone and create stuff that is more of a mixed media...
