Hello everyone,
I made a rustic style Christmas card in dark red and gold tones using Spellbinders Fleur de Lis squares and Cricut cutouts from Christmas Cheer and Sophisticated cartridges:
All the patterned card stock layers have distressed edges and I used decorative sisal for the first time as part of my embellishments. I added strings of sisal underneath the Fleur de Lis diecuts as well in the quadruple shabby bow.
I embossed the stockings with Darice Damask embossing folder, heat embossed them with rustic gold embossing powder and added string on mini rustic gold pearls.
The shabby bow was made with seam binding ribbon and decorated with small poinsettia flower that was also heat embossed with rustic gold embossing powder. As you can see there are sisal strings running through it.
Side look reveals all the layers and dimension....
I am entering this card into following challenges:

A very nice Christmas card in traditional colours. I love it! xx
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you co much! Truthfully, picture does not give any justice to this card. I have it sitting on the desk in my office and I keep looking at it, the colors are so rich. Well, anyways, I am glad that you like my card. Thank you so very much for stopping by and taking time to leave me a comment. Hugs :) Samra
ReplyDeleteIt's quite annoying when you can't get the right colours on your camera, isn't it? Happens to me a lot too. *sigh* I believe you that this is even more beautiful in person, but it looks great in the pictures as well. :) Hugs! xx
DeleteThank you! ;)
DeleteI love the colours you've chosen for the card and its delicate vintage look! And I love the use of sisal- it makes the card look really light and delicate.
ReplyDeleteAwwww Agnieszka, thank you soo much! I am glad you like my card! Thank you for stopping by, I truly appreciate you!
DeleteAnother stunner Samra! This is one of my favourite Christmas colour combinations! I just love the red and tan with touches of gold! My camera gives me a hard time too. I have come very close to chucking it out the window a couple of times, silly thing! I have no doubt this card is even more gorgeous than I imagine! You are really good with the sketch challenges...I avoid those like the plague! I hate being told what to do...tee hee! Anyway, big hugs my talented friend! :)
ReplyDeleteYour are so funny my friend! Yesterday I could not get the pictures to come out right at all. Neither one of my projects really show well on camera, but I did not want to miss the challenges, some of them were ending soon, so I posted them. I am glad you approve of my card. You always have such nice things to say about my work, you truly lift my spirit with every visit! Thank you so much!!! Now I can go to work and if anything ugly happens I can just think: "I don't care what you have to say, cause Pamellia likes my card! HA!!!" Big hugs my friend!
