City Crafter Challenge Blog Week# 230 ~ Focus on Sentiment

Hello everyone,

It was such a perfect coincidence that this week at City Crafter Challenge Blog focus was on sentiment and I was getting ready to make exactly such card!
One of the supervisors at my work was retiring and I wanted to make a card for her with RETIREMENT word as main focus of my card. :)

I created this sentiment on my PC and then used Spellbinders Squares to cut out and emboss a square for each letter and it's "explanation".

I used foam adhesive stack the squares.

I only added this tiny bow and some crystals to the card, not to take away focus from the sentiment...
I had to think outside of my "Shabby Chic Box" to make this card. Not everyone likes shabby chic cards, my favorite style, so I had to fit the style to the person that was getting this card: very modern and stylish lady, our department's trend setter :)

The card was too dimensional to fit into a regular envelope, so I made this stylish box for it.
I do have to mention that lady that got this card yesterday was so touched and she loved it. :) It makes me so happy to see expression on someone's face when they receive card from me, specially made just for them!

Well, I hope you enjoyed this post, I know I had fun creating this project. :)
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by...
Samra

  2. Wow Samra, what a fantastic retirement card! Of course she loved it, it really is elegant and actually very chic, just not shabby! Your sentiment is wonderful, but the layout of your sentiment is pure genius! You are much braver than I for venturing into CAS territory! I run like a coward just thinking about it! Ironically, I love the style and adore looking at other people's CAS creations, but my brain and hands just won't allow it! HAHA. Anyway, wonderful job for the challenge, big hugs! :)

  4. Maybe a bit out of your comfort zone but it really is a stunner. I love the modern and fresh look of this card and the way you used the word "retirement"as a start to build up this fabulous card. And blue is my favorite color; you got me:) Thank you so much for joining us this week at CCCB!
