Anything But Cute Challenge #10 "Grungy Love"

Hello everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at Anything But Cute Mixed Media Challenge Blog!! Our host this month is Sara Emily and she chose a theme of "Grungy Love"
Here is the challenge description:

To celebrate St. Valentine’s Day, we would like to see you make a Grungy Valentine’s project for your sweetheart! It can be a card, tag, or anything else you might give a loved one to show them how much you care. Just be sure it’s grungy!

So here is what I did:

Below you can see what all I used to create the Grunge Heart background...

I did not include in the picture a container of home made texture paste, but that is what made the texture hearts and then I just applied distress paints and ink to get to the color you see...I chose one of the hearts, added some glossy accent and poured micro beads to get that dimensional heart...

I used all kinds of trinkets, stamps, embossing ink and powders to put together the rest of the card.

You can see the shimmer of the paint...

One more look at the finished card...

Please stop by Anything But Cute to see what my team mates created for this month's challenge and I hope you'll join us with your Mixed Media Grunge Valentine project!
I hope you enjoyed this post...
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by...

  2. Wow Samra, there are so many things that I love about this one!! Only you could take two things as opposite and grungy and romance and make them look like they were meant to be merged together!! There is such an appealing quality to this card that I can't quite put my finger on. I love the combination of the metal frame with the glittery heart in the center! I love it all actually and your process pics are amazing, I love seeing all your products in the raw before you put them together!! hugs :)

  4. Wow, Samra, you really need to do grungy more, my dear, because you do it SO WELL! I love your background and that single heart loaded with microbeads is just genius, and to frame it, even more so! I actually felt like I might have been the fly on the wall in your craft room, seeing your process shots, and that is worth so much to me. Not that YOU would have flies in your home! Let's change that to butterfly! Other than that fabulous background and GRUNGY flower (Squeal!), I love the torn bingo card--that just tugs at my grungy heart! Well done, my friend! Hugs!
