City Crafter Challenge Blog Week #264 "Add A Banner"

Hello everyone,

It is time for a brand new challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog. I am hosting this week's challenge and I selected the theme of banners. Add them to your card or create a banner for a special occasion and show it off in our challenge :) Here is an inspiration photo to start off the fun:

And here is the card I made:

I made this card for my very dear blog friend Branka. As you can see, the card is very much inspired by the photo, I love the soft and airy feel of it...

I created the background using a piece of cardboard, scrunched up tissue paper and a layer of texture paste. I made the texture paste look like old worn out wood panel and painted it with Broken China Distress Paint.

I created the banner using newspaper print cardstock and stamped my sentiment with archival ink.

Doily, tissue paper flowers, crafters clay cupcake and the keys were all arranged in the corner to complement the white shabby bow...

One more look at the finished card...

Our Guest Designer this week is my dear blog friend Kara Lynne Please stop by to check out her fabulous blog!! She makes the most amazing modern design cards, you'll be in for quite a treat when you see her work. :)

Please check out what my team mates have prepared for this week's challenge and I hope you'll find time and inspiration to join the challenge...

I hope you enjoyed this post...
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by...

I am going to enter this card into following challenges:

Frilly and Funkie "Happy, Happy, HAPPY! It makes me happy to see smile of people's face or hear from them how much they liked my card :)

  18. Dear Samra, I have had this open on my desk top for days, just staring at it! What a lovely gift you have given Branka, and I know it means the world to her! what a sweet and generous friend you are to give of yourself in this way. I am in awe of your ability to create these wooden planks in the background, I love all those crafters clay embellishments (the cupcake looks good enough to eat!) with the soft always lovely flowers and shabby bow, and what a great way to include the sentiment! We always hang a birthday banner anytime someone celebrates a birthday in our home, so I really love this! Bravo, my friend on a beautiful gift to a lovely lady! Hugs!
