Anything But Cute Mixed Media Challenge-June "Make It Masculine"

Hello everyone,

It is time for a new Challenge at Anything But Cute! Cec is out host this month and she selected the theme Make It Masculine. “Make a mixed media card or other project for a fellow in your life. It could be for Father’s Day, a Birthday, an Anniversary, of just because you want him to know how special he is. “

When I saw the theme, I immediately knew I wanted to create an industrial looking picture frame, so here it is:

Now to show you what I used to create it:

Then I painted gears, bolts, nuts and all other added trinkets with black acrylic paint. When that was dry I went over everything with Brushed Pewter Distress Paint.

Here are few more pictures of the details...

Please stop by Anything But Cute and check out what fabulous makes my teammies have made for this occasion and I truly hope you'll join the fun!

I would like to enter this altered frame into following challenges:
Eclectic Ellapu "Steampunk"

Rhedd's Creative Spirit June Challenge Anything Goes

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Make It Masculine"

Simply Create Too Challenge #87 Masculine

I hope you enjoyed this post...
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by...

  3. Wow, Samra! Can I say this is my new favorite fabulous creation of yours???!!! Good Golly, I love this side of you, too! That painted industrial background is just perfect to show off all your cogs, gears, hardware, and those surprise musical notes! Your composition of this is just spot on (I'm so envious of your skill at this!) and your paint job really just makes this one supercalafragalistic steampunk-ing masculine work of art. What a treasure this is, and what a treasure YOU are! Huge hugs for a job very well done, my friend!

  10. Wowzers Samra-cakes! When you use foil tape it turns out exponentially awesome sauce! I am awed by what the results you achieve with this. Those gears and cogs and screws add the perfect depth and texture to this gorgeous altered frame. The frame company should pay you for making it look 1,000 times better. Hehe!
