Butterfly Birthday Card

Hello everyone,

Just a quick post of a card I made for my dear friend's birthday:

I created a background by heat embossing faded text stamp with white embossing powder. Then I applied Dusty Concord DI, heavily to the edges and lightly to the centers of the papers.

I used Tim Holtz butterfly stamp and die to cut out 3 butterflies and layer them for extra dimension...

I kept the card simple and only added a little bit of Baby's Breath and white ribbon...wanted to keep a focus on the text background and butterfly.

Masquerade Card

Hello everyone,

I would like to share with you a card I just made:

I created a background by painting One Step Crackle over a piece of black card stock. I taped the edges of that piece to get that black "frame" around the gold, which I applied after the clear crackle layer was dry...

The close up isn't that fabulous, but you can kinda see the crackle...

I layered a Spellbinders die first, then the frame I made by cutting several frames from Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge and gluing them together. The frame was then covered with Black Soot Distress Paint, tons of liquid pearl dots and after all was dry, a thick layer of crackle paint and some Deco Art Gold Rush Metallic Lustre.
The little masks are Verve Stamps diecuts, stamped with a matching stamp and heat embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

Some hand made golden tissue paper flowers and a crinkled rustic bow to add extra volume and elegance...

Anything But Cute Challenge #10 "Grungy Love"

Hello everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at Anything But Cute Mixed Media Challenge Blog!! Our host this month is Sara Emily and she chose a theme of "Grungy Love"
Here is the challenge description:

To celebrate St. Valentine’s Day, we would like to see you make a Grungy Valentine’s project for your sweetheart! It can be a card, tag, or anything else you might give a loved one to show them how much you care. Just be sure it’s grungy!

So here is what I did:

Below you can see what all I used to create the Grunge Heart background...

I did not include in the picture a container of home made texture paste, but that is what made the texture hearts and then I just applied distress paints and ink to get to the color you see...I chose one of the hearts, added some glossy accent and poured micro beads to get that dimensional heart...

I used all kinds of trinkets, stamps, embossing ink and powders to put together the rest of the card.

You can see the shimmer of the paint...

One more look at the finished card...

Please stop by Anything But Cute to see what my team mates created for this month's challenge and I hope you'll join us with your Mixed Media Grunge Valentine project!
I hope you enjoyed this post...
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by...

Scrapy Land Challenge #35 Anything Goes

Hello everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at Scrapy Land Blog and this 35th challenge brings good old Anything Goes theme as long as you are using in your project dies that Scrapy Land Store carries.

This time I created a Birthday card for my very dear blog friend Sara Emily of Sarascloset

I printed the sentiment 3 times and then used Sizzix Framelits tag die cuts in different sizes to create this layered look. Sara was quite impressed with it :) I think it is interesting and I just might use this idea again... In the background you can see the Cheery Lynn English Tea Party Doily that was die cut dictionary print from American Crafts DIY Shop paper pad.

I used Spellbinders Rose Creation die for the roses and once I put them together, some I inked with Dusty Concord Distress Ink.

I tucked in some decorative sisal and baby's breath underneath the tags and added a little old fashion ink pen from Whiff of Joy Stay in Touch collection, love that die set, very neat little dies in it!

On top of the doily you can see three layers of Memory Box Catalina Wreath

So, now it is your turn to join in this challenge for a chance to win $15 Gift Card to Scrapy Land store! Please stop by Scrapy Land Blog and check out what my talented Team Mates created for this challenge!
