Shabby Chic Pink & White Wedding Card

Hello everyone,

I have to say that picture does not do justice to this card...I took many pictures but neither one could capture every detail to it's fullest :( The pink color in the picture looks dark, but in reality it is super soft and light. I tried taking pictures at different locations and with different light, but nothing seemed to work. :(

I created this shabby chic wedding card using 12" x 6" piece of 140lb water coloring paper. I love the sturdiness and thickness of that paper and try to use in on all my cards as the base...
I added texture paste to the next layer using the Damask Flourish Prima stencil and once the texture paste was dry, I covered it with a layer of Gesso.
I distressed the edges and added some liquid pearls to the top corners. The sentiment was stamped onto a fancy tag diecut using Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and then I covered the tag with a thin layer of Picket Fence Crackle Paint. As you can see there is another fancy tag die cut underneath it. I added some liquid pearls to that ensemble too...

The dress was made of gauze, card stock doily border cutout, tulle, embroidered ribbon and a corsett cut out embellished with heat embossed flourish and liquid pearls.

One more look at the finished card...

I am entering this card into following challenges:

The Artistic Stamper Anything Goes

Artist Trading Post Exchange Let's Celebrate

It's All About The Vintage And Beauty #82 Knot (There is a shabby bow with a knot and also card itself symbolizes tying a knot :)

I hope you enjoyed this post.

  3. Oh boy Samra, I sure do love it when you whip out the texture paste!! This is so beautiful and shabby, what an amazing job you have done with that dress, it just flows so perfectly!! The pink and white are so romantic and perfect for the occasion! I love how you used the Spellbinders tag and your pearl drops are just brilliant, what a soft, elegant touch to the dress and the background! I feel a little bit sad that I have come to the end of the creations I missed, like when a good movie is over! I sure do look forward to 2015 and all of the wonderful creations from you that I will get to see! Sending big hugs from your biggest fan! :)

I was trying to find how to install "Email Me" button on the sidebar, but don't know how to do it, and when I asked in help forum for help, was told it is the best to just use Contact me Form, which I finally installed.
