Paper Sweeties September Inspiration Challenge #23 "Pretty Pumpkins"

Hello everyone,

I created a Thanksgiving card for Paper Sweeties September Inspiration Challenge #23 "Pretty Pumpkins" based on this inspirational photo and color palette:

This is my response:

This is the first time I used tulle and microbeads on a card...so give me some slack :) I had a hardest time working with microbeads since I have not really done my research on what was the best way to attach them. I ended up using glue stick as my adhesive, but if someone has a better way, please let me know :) I used a piece of tulle that I cut out about 1/2 inch larger than my card and glued it to the card, then pulled the edges to create some ruffles and tears.

I used Cricut Damask Decor Cartridge for my Pumpkin cutout and sprinkled it with microbeads.

I added a cluster of pumpkins and some handmade flowers along with a seambinding bow.

One more look at the card...

Well, that is it for now. I hope you enjoyed this post.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by...
Samra

  1. Hi Samra......your card is so so pretty, love the softness of the tulle and the pretty colours. I haven't worked that much with micro beads but when I want to cover a image in glitter , I run it through my Zyron to create a sticker. Or I have also covered my paper in score tape before I cut the image.......once its cut pull off the score tape paper, now you have a sticker for your beads or glitter. I think doing it this way you get a really even coverage of glue. Hope that helps. I think yours looks great.....thanks for reminding me I have micro beads!

  4. Oh Samra, this is just stunning!! WOW, WOW, WOW! I love your soft tones and your pumpkins are beautiful! The background paper is so elegant, what a wonderful backdrop for that gorgeous centerpiece!! Just beautiful hon!

Regarding the micro-beads. I have found the best product to be Mod Podge Matte (for paper). You can apply it to a small space or to a large surface with a brush and when it dries, it's not visible in the spots where there are no beads. Big bear hugs :)
